I dont’ really know what this is, but it’s pretty cool. I guess it’s an example of the kind of stuff you can do with Flash and some other tools, and also an example of how web design that is not necessarily “user friendly” can be really interesting and engaging.

I’m a Flash convert. Before I attended DMAC, I thought of Flash as an annoying program that enabled developers to create bloated, poorly designed websites from a user’s perspective. While I still wouldn’t use Flash to design a website, I would use Flash to illustrate how layers of meaning accumulate and how important transitions are in the composing process. Also, I think Flash would be a good tool for places that want to start doing something with digital media but don’t have video cameras available because movie like effects are possible with still pictures and sound clips.
