Via Derek at Earth Wide Moth, I came across CMap Tools, which is a cross-platform “idea mapping” software that looks pretty useful. I haven’t messed with it yet, but it looks easy and fun, and it’s cross-platform. Downloads available here. I can see using this stuff in a first year composition sort of course as a prewriting tool, but I’d be most interested in using this in a class where students have to make web sites in order to “map them” ahead of time.
