I looked at my blog this morning with quite the fright, let me tell ya. I went to it with the intention of posting about an article I found on the tech divide between teachers and students in European schools (that will come later) and I just had a series of bizarre errors. It was before I had finished my first cup of coffee, so there was a little, um, nervousness on my part.
Well, long story short, I managed to update to the latest version of WordPress, and that in turn updated the database and now all is well. This all makes me realize that one of my (growing list of) summer projects around here is to update/clean things up around here. And I discovered today a new toy to help me do that: from a blog called “A Problem Must Be Solved, Resolved, or Dissolved” and written by a guy in Rotterdam comes the WordPress Theme Generator. I have no idea if it works or not, but I do know I’ll be playing around with it. If I ever get my spring term classes planned, that is….
Just arrived at your blog as I was researching various links on rhetoric and pragmatism. I’m a grad student at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana, in Liberal Arts; I’m also a high school English teacher. I am reading through your dissertation – it is okay if I use as a reference, properly cited, of course?
Sorry to hear about your ‘bizarre errors’ and hope it doesn’t happen again. Have a great break – whether that means summer off, as it does for me – or your sabbatical.
