Eh, so-so.
I am sitting right now at about -10 pounds, relative to what I was when I started all this on April 1. I think the best way to describe my eating habbits as of late are “South Beach Light.” For example, I just had a bagel with cream cheese, although it was a 9 grain/lower carb bagel, according to the advertising at least. It’s been kind of hard “being good” since Halloween. There was a lot of candy around the house for that, and then Annette’s birthday party and its decidedly non-SB menu was last weekend. I think I’m still working off some of that weight.
Kind of a strange twist though: the week before Annette’s birthday, right after Halloween, I didn’t go to the gym at all. I was busy, Will was out of school for a lot of it because of parent-teacher conferences, I was lazy, etc. My weight stayed about the same, maybe even dropped a bit, though I didn’t feel that great. This last week, I decided that– damnit!– I need to go to the gym no matter what. I went five times, Monday through Friday, though I was only there for about 30-40 minutes. Now, on the one hand, I feel great, a lot better than I’ve felt for quite a while. On the other hand, despite the extra excercise, I actually gained weight, about a pound and a half. Fat to muscle? Actually eating more and not really realizing it? I dunno.
Anyway, what I’d like to do is make it through the holidaze being somewhere between -10 and -15, and then make another weight loss push at the start of the year. Stay tuned for details…
