I actually find this quite beautiful and disturbing at the same time. If you’re curious, it’s called “Chocolate Haas” and is the work of Sander Plug, an artist who seems to specialize in doing wacky things. I came across this via this Public Address.
Guy reaches level 60 in World of Warcraft
This is my fear about what might happen around our house one day when Annette and Will reach level whatever in their silly little Runscape game… and also why I don’t know if I want to start WoW anytime soon.
Don’t fear the robots
A work colleague of mine sent this to me, but it seems more “unofficial” territory than something for the academic blog. So here it is:
Napoleon Dynamite Thanksgiving
Kinda lame, kinda funny.
“How We Go Out” in Ames, Iowa?
This isn’t really my “cup of tea,” as the saying goes, but I stumbled across it on YouTube and I learned that it was filmed in Ames, Iowa. So what the heck.
Eddie Izzard videos
My friend Rachel sent around this video, a lego set-up of Eddie Izzard’s riff on the Death Star Canteen (fwiw, lots of the “f” word here, and I don’t mean food):

Not your usual nature show footage
I came across this via TheOrangeSlayedTheRake:
As he said, the first couple minutes are kind of boring but then things take some pretty interesting turns.
Crazy dude on a unicycle
I came across this via kottke.org. Pretty impressive stuff.
Not my new hobby
But still pretty cool:
Via boing boing.
Stephen Hawking on his role in The Simpsons
Via a blog I read often called this Public Address 4.0.
